The weather was perfect. The backyard setting was magical and we were blessed to have so many of you there to celebrate Champions Place with the residents and their families. Based on unanimous input, we will be planning the 4th Annual BBQ and Bluegrass event for fall 2024!
Our hope for the evening was to “bring to life” and “celebrate” the programs you are supporting.
Independent Living - Ryan Carrol shared why he and his peers love living at Champions Place.
Further Develop the Champions Place Model - Nancy Rickard from The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation shared how Champions Community Foundation is sharing best practices we have learned to help The IDDEAL Foundation create a home like Champions Place in South Florida.
Provide Community and Friendships – James Seidl announced the launch of Champions Connect where Titans can find community through daily virtual events. Combine this with the 30+ in-person Titan scrimmages and social events provided today, and there is never a reason to be lonely again.
Impact more lives by sharing what we have learned – Paul Via interviewed Champions Place@Home recipient Gracie Contreras, who shared how the new assistive technology we installed in her grandmother's home has helped her become more independent and self-reliant.
And, Spencer Callahan brought down the house singing "Summer of 69!"...the crowd encouraged Spencer by singing along and waving their iPhone flashlights - the place was Rock'in!
So how did we do?
Through your generosity and God’s promise to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:23), we raised $276,000 so far!
Thank you! We would love to publicly thank each of you individually but so many people served, gave and invested in the evening that none of you would ever reach the end of this note. Because of friends like you, our future here at Champions Community Foundation is bright! We are forever grateful.
